About Games For Learning Institute The multi-institutional Games for Learning Institute studies the educational use of digital games, and investigates their socio-cultural, cognitive, and emotional impact. We develop design patterns for effective educational games that industry partners can draw on to assure high quality when designing their own games for learning. Programed as a dynamic system, each student has access to the site to update their profile and websites. The Digital Media Website features an updatable class list, current news, bios on students, alumni and faculty, along with a visiting lecture series with live feeds. Even the background of the website serves as a voice by featuring current student work created during their time in the department. It was an exciting and explorative process which created a website that will change at the same speed as the department itself.
